Best Way To Lose Weight

Bringing the best rapid weight loss exercises into your home is going to save you a lot of time and money in the long run. Working out at the gym is probably the best way to enjoy the benefits of all the equipment that can work just about every body part you have, however, home workouts can often be just as effective as the gym with half the time.

Equipment

You will need a few things first before getting started with your new home workout regime, but don't you worry, you can purchase these low cost items at your local Walmart anytime. The type of workout tools you need are as follows:

Resistance Bands
Light Weight Dumbbells (About 3-10 lbs.)
Exercise Ball for Isolated Crunches

My assumption is you are already following a strict diet plan that will assist you in getting the best results possible. Now that we are on the same page, the first exercise you want to focus on is the one that will get your heart pumping the fastest. Your legs are responsible for carrying you every you go, and they also contain one of the largest arteries in the body, the femoral artery.

Jump Squats

This particular exercise is a rapid way to not only increase your heart rate products, but to strengthen and tone your legs, calves, and buttocks. If you are capable of jump roping, you can easily do this exercise. To do this movement, start with your feet shoulder with apart. Then, squat down and explode up in a simultaneous motion. Do this exercise for 15 reps in a 3 set range.

Push Ups

Push ups have become the universal exercise for the average person. This exercise is one of the top compound movements anyone can perform for maximum tone. Why? Push ups target and help shape your chest, shoulders (deltoids), and triceps. Make sure to do this exercise for 3-4 sets of 15-20 reps. If you are not able to do a full push up, start on your knees and gradually progress up as you get stronger.

Shadow Boxing

Now, with your light dumbbell weight, stand with you feet shoulder width apart with a slight squat in your legs. Start punching across your body with your light weights in your hand. This particular weight loss exercise really gets your arms and shoulders burning with a slight emphasis on your back muscles. Do this one for 1 minute per 3 sets. End your exercise with about 3 sets of 25 reps on the exercise ball.

Super-Setting

Super setting is going to turn the heat up just a little bit more. Raising your core temperature is very easy with the previous exercises, however, executing these exercises without little or no rest in between is what experiences fast weight loss and tone at home is all about.

What’s the best way to lose weight, best diet to follow?
I’ve been counting calories (about 1500 a day) and exercising via my treadmill at least 20 minutes, three times a week. This is slowly working, but some other people I know are losing quicker on the low carb diet or Weight Watchers. Should I increase my amount of exercise or maybe switch to a different diet?

I know this is long reply. But please take your time and read this. I know this work. So please read it =)

Water is very good for you and specially if you’re on diet and if you’re working out-water is very good and keeps you hydrated.
I don’t believe in pills or any weight loss shakes-they are bogus and lame and are temporally and have many side effects.

First loose the soda, cut down on pizza and fast food.
If you like fires make ‘em at home in oven. They come out very yummy and oil free.

Key is to eat small portions 5 times a day.
Morning: boiled eggs, corn flakes, fat free milk, if you want to fry eggs loose the yolk and eat the white part.
Morning snack around 10:30am-11am: a piece of fruit / 2 cups of veggie/ salad
Lunch: Turkey / Chicken lunchmeat with whole grain or wheat bread.
      1 Cup of veggies.
Mid day snack (around 2:30pm or so) a piece of fruit or health bar.
Dinner: Grill fish with veggies / brown rice with beans/ wheat pasta with grill chicken.
9pm snack (optional-only if you feel lil hungry 2 hours before your sleep time) have yogurt.

The key is to loose red meat and pork and add more wheat products to your diet. Drink lots of water. As you can read i did not talk about any sweet products. Sweet only from fruits no cookies no cake no brownies.None of that. Sweet things have more and load and calories. Take your protein because you would need that protein for your work out.

For hips, behind and thighs one thing SQUATS and LUNGES helps a lot!
SQUATS are hard to do in start but once you get use to of it, no problem
for butt is “BUTT BLASTER” EXERCISE. You can do it in your bedroom. To see how to perform those exercises, you can go image google put the key word and check out the pics and that will give you idea on how to perform those exercises. All the exercises i told you, you can do it in your bedroom, no need to go to gym or buy any equipment.

Start by doing 3 sets of 15 each.

Believe me you will see results within a month.
I have told other people too, this entire veggies and fruit intake will make you very regular and you will make about 4 trips to the bathroom, so be prepare.

If you really want to lose weight, you have to truly adjust your lifestyle rather than just following a dieting programme for a defined time period. If you are overweight today, then you have to admit that your diet and lifestyle was incorrect up to today.
I’d recommend that you grab a book about ‘metabolic dieting’ from Amazon (I read one by Dr Ulrich Strunz in German), it will explain and highlight how proteins/hormones and vitamins affect your body and how to successfully diet. Do not go for any of these fake dieting programs which promise miracles.
The best way to lose weight and keep it off is by truly understanding your body.
      Good luck!

What is the best way for me to lose weight?
Okay, I’m about 150 and 5’3. I have a natural muscle build, and I want to know the best way to lose weight. Because I’m naturally built, I want to just lose fat. I have enough strength.

What would be the best thing for me to do? I want to be skinny, but not unhealthy.

    Thanks in advance!

Also, this is my second time to ask this. I didn’t trust the other answers.

    • Ethytr says:

Sniff a banana, an apple, or a peppermint when you feel hungry. You might feel silly, but it works. When Alan R. Hirsch, M.D., neurological director of the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago, tried this with 3,000 volunteers, he found that the more frequently people sniffed, the less hungry they were and the more weight they lost — an average of 30 pounds each. One theory is that sniffing the food tricks the brain into thinking you’re actually eating it.

What’s the best way to lose weight and grow a butt in a few weeks (if possible) and if not, in months? (other than eating healthier)…Are there certain excersises?

    • Tia J says:

      Hi
Women and even men seek these days ways to get more shape to their butt. There are few exercises that these people should know. To get muscle mass and more shape to your butt, you most definitely need to workout hard, but with correct exercises and in the right way to get good results. These exercises are not in any better than the other order.

      1. Squats

This is one of the more obvious choices, a good exercise to get more muscle mass to your butt. With many different variations it has endless possibilities, but most definitely a good workout where you can use much weight, so that your butt muscles get a good stimulus to grow.

      2. Lunges

Again a popular choice if you ask around. This exercise works the butt area best when you can deliver the power to get back up through your heel and so I recommend the walking lunges version. Easy to do at your walks or when you are jogging. Do it against a small hill to get it more effective. Lunges overall are great exercise.

      3. Deadlift

Deadlift is one of the best exercises to target your hamstring and butt area in general. Lifts up your butt and brings a lot of muscle mass to your butt. Again in different versions like straight leg deadlift you can really focus on getting that butt to workout hard! A great, but hard exercise!

      4. Lowerback extension

Lowerback extensions is good butt workout when executed while keeping the legs straight. You need a lowerback extension bench to do this, but most gyms do have one. Take a small weight to make it harder and feel how your butt muscles work when you are getting back up!

      5. Running hills

Not the most obvious choice as long jogs tend to lose your muscle mass. So the running here I’m referring is hard, intense running to uphill or stairs. It firms up your thighs and your butt also has to do hard work. It affects more to the shape and not the size of your butt, but as you lose fat around your belly and firm up thighs, your butt looks bigger!

      Loose weight tips -

Here are 6 super How To Lose Weight Tips that can help you to melt off those pounds away like butter.

      1. Try To Drink More Than 8 Glasses of water daily. Why is this important? Well the thing is that water in large quantities boosts your metabolism and rids your body get rid of toxins in the body.

      2. Try Eating Slower. The Slower you eat, it takes less food to get full.

      3. Do Not Skip Meals. When you do that, your body thinks it is starving and this will cause your metabolism to slow down.

      4. Weight Training Is A Big Benefit. Try toning your muscles. The more muscle mass you have, the more calories you will burn.

      5. This one Is Simple, Limit Your calorie intake. ut back on your calorie intake daily and you will shed pounds guaranteed.

Is hating your body the best way to lose weight?
Hating myself and my body helped me lose weight because it gave me the fervor that I needed to stick to my diets. It worked, but is it the best way to motivate yourself to lose weight?

How can loving your body help you lose weight? Doesn’t it mean that you should love it the way it is? Doesn’t it mean that you should listen to it and not torture it?

    • Juliana says:

I think it depends on your personality. I used to hate my body, but that only made me feel depressed and hopefully consequently leading me to eat more. Now I love myself and I feel like I can slowly make improvements and still have fun. Like, I don’t have rush the process b/c I can’t have fun until then. I want to enjoy every moment of life – not only the times when I’m skinny. Love yourself.

    • Monica Greene says:

The best way for somebody is your condition to lose weight is to do a lot physical activities like walking, running, jugging and eating balanced diet full of fruits and vegetables. If you seat around a lot, there is also a good reason that your body is turning a lot of the carb you consume into sugar and fat. To burn carbohydrates rapidly and not store them into fat, you might consider taking carb blocker supplements that is 100% all natural so that you won’t suffer any side effects. Carb blocker could help burn fat quicker and turn your food into energy instead of sugar and fat.

    • Imaka says:

Weight loss is an overall process and there are no magic answers. Pay no attention to weight loss supplements and pills and all the latest fads. You need to think about many factors but most of them are related to issues we’ve known about for a very long time. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.

Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

Make a few additional small changes – walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.

Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can’t get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one.

In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy.

Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate – in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don’t. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies.

Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day.

Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.

Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body.

Vary your routines. Don’t eat the same number of calories every day (vary your calories from 1400 a day to 1900 or 2000 some days), eat a variety of foods, and do different kinds and amounts of exercise. You will lose weight much more efficiently if you mix things up from time to time so that your body doesn’t adjust to any one routine.

An area that many people overlook is getting enough sleep. You are much more likely to overeat or to binge eat if you are tired and not well rested, so get enough sleep.

Check out websites about nutrition, exercise, weight training, etc.

    • Friend Gs says:

I found this on this website. There are more tips and info.

      1. If what you are eating has less than 1 carb, count it as 1 carb just to be sure.

      2. Totally avoid caffine at least for the first two weeks on the program.

      3. Drink a MINIMUM of 8 glasses of plain water or seltzer daily.

      4. Don’t weigh yourself more than once a week

      5. Take starting measurements as well as weight – sometimes you’ll lose inches before pounds

      6. Avoid any type of “low carb” sweetener for the first two weeks

      7. Don’t compare your loss to someone else’s – this is a YMMV thing (your milage may vary)

      8. Stalls are common around the third week so don’t panic

      9. If you follow your plan to the T and don’t lose, consider Candida as a possibility and avoid vinegar, cheese, mushrooms and any other fermented food

      10. Have bloodwork done before starting so you have a comparison

      11. Cholesterol can be elevated in the first few weeks til your body adjusts – make sure your doctor knows that you’re doing low carb and when you started

      12. Don’t blame the diet if you don’t read your plan book — blame the diet if you don’t read the labels — Don’t blame the diet if you don’t follow the diet

There are many forms of metabolism going on in your body right now, but the one everyone is talking about it the metabolism of fat. This is actually something that the liver does when it converts stored fat to energy. The liver has other functions, but this is one of its main jobs.

Unfortunately, another of the liver’s duties is to pick up the slack for the kidneys, which need plenty of water to work properly. If the kidneys are water-deprived, the liver has to do their work along with its own, lowering its total productivity. It then can’t metabolize fat as quickly or efficiently as it could when the kidneys were pulling their own weight. If you allow this to happen, not only are you being unfair to your liver, but you’re also setting yourself up to store fat.
so, drink 6-8 8oz.glasses of water a day,
The most recent scientific study, published in the journal Obesity Research, found that drinking at least 3 eight-ounce glasses of fat free milk in a day helped people lose more weight than those dieters who drank little or no milk.

Most importantly, milk drinkers’ fat loss, especially around their tummies, was significantly greater. They also maintained more muscle. so, drink your milk and water and eat a lot of fruit and veggies and baked meats and boiled meats like chicken and turkey ,i like to make extra so i can snack on cold chicken later don’t use bbq sauce it has sugar ,use garlic powder or lemon pepper season .eat tuna in water not oil,no mayo, mix it in green beans, all beans are high in protine low in fat, like pinto beans mix them with crushed tomatoes,do not eat fried foods,do not drink soda, do not eat junk food or chips,do not eat before bed, just eat well and do not eat small amounts or your body will go into starvation mode, just choose good foods, i hope i helped,

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace .com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

I am 175 pounds and want to lose as much weight possible by my 18th birthday. Which is May 26th.

What is the best way to do it? I need help!

    • Gemma says:

Firstly look at how much calories your eating and what kind of foods your eating.

Then look at what exercises you do during the day.

And when your done then write them down.

And then understand that by cutting out all the “wrong” foods in your list and substituting them with healthy foods (such as wholegrain foods and fruits/veg) and adding a few exercises such as walking and stairs in your house you will at least lose about 20 pounds or maybe more, by your birthday. Just dont eat below 1200 calories as your body will go into starvation mode after some time. If you work hard, and from today you WILL DO IT, not CAN but WILL.
      Good Luck

What is the best way to lose weight as a 13 year old girl?
I’m 13 and want to lose weight over summer and was wondering how much I could lose and what is the best way; eat less or exercise more? I have 8 weeks to come back a thin beauty for next year!

    • Alexa says:

im 13 too! in the 4-5 days ive lost 10 pounds..NO LIE! thas about 2 to 3 pounds a day. and here is how to do it. It worked for me and i hope it works for you! STAY STRONG! its hard but if you really want this read the instructions below.

Before even starting to lose weight you need to find a *motivation* wheather your trying to snag a hot guy/girl or you want to look good in a bathingsuit, you NEED motivation. without it you WILL not be able to lose weight. you have to really want it!

Here are some weird but totally effective tips….
      1. Smell an orange or pomagranite..the acids given of tell your system to attack fat bodies. (this is true) but dont expect this to work alone.. you must still diet
      2. take a Bath and put enzyme salt in it…it literally melts away fat and flattens a bloated stomach.

HERES MY ULTIMATE WEIGHT LOSS SUCSESS!

WATER! water fills you up and will do the same thing for you as food will. but on the occasion you must eat!!! eat fruits and vegtables ONLY become a vegitarian…only for two weeks though!…laim right? but heres the thing you will be so full on water you wont be hungry all the time. never try to starve yourself…it actually make you gain weight. when you do that your body tries to store the fats instead of get rid of them…water tricks your body into thinking its full and it will get rid of them. plus with all that weight loss your skin will become saggy and totally not worth it..but water helps plump and hydrate the skin preventing saggy skin and or the ocasional streatch markss.

anothe thing you must do unless you take a weight loss pill is exsercise…u need to excersice and average of 30mins a day. if you donat excersise the weight will gain back quickly…but to keep it off you must EXCERSISE. its only 30mins and its not that bad.

eat lightly. eat FRUITS AND VEGGIES ONLY!!!!!! its two weeks i think youll survive..if you really wany to do this eat fruits and veggies only for two weeks (or more if you choose) and water only! Breakfast lunch and dinner will be WATER….with a small cup of fruits and vegtables

    • scarletts_hot says:

The best way to lost weight in a long week is actually a form of reverse psychology. It involves making sure EVERYONE at the cocktail party is completely wasted before you arrive (including your date) so that when you walk in you appear to be a total MEGA-babe – regardless of the fact that, since you knew that beer-goggles would render you a size 6, you have actually gained three kilos during the week due to eating too many fried dim-sims and chocolate bars.

    i’m in cheerleading
    i’m 5’4″ . i won’t say how old i am.

    • lonely_minerva says:

I totally understand wanting to lose weight—-I was a cheerleader too so I understand the pressure there. However, being 5’4″ and 105 is already slightly below a healthy weight (check online if you don’t believe me http://www.healthatoz.com/healthatoz/Atoz/tl/cl/healthyweight/healthyweight.jsp). It makes me really sad to think that girls your age feel this way.
But, I digress….I agree with everyone else. You need to listen to your parents—2 meals a day is generally too little for most people (especially those who are still growing). I support you trying to eat healthier (less junk food, more lean, healthy foods) and trying to get involved in what your parents are choosing for you to eat. I also agree that starving yourself (which you are doing, even if you don’t think you are) actually forces your body to keep the fat it has as a defense mechanism.
My best advice for you is to get good exercise (cardio and weights), eat better and more often, and most importantly, stop listening to anyone who thinks that you need to lose weight at your size. Concentrate on loving who you already are and not what you think you should be. That is what makes you truly beautiful.

What worked for me was breastfeeding and talking my son for daily walks … and of course, eating right.

Breastfeeding you can obviously start right away. Light walking you can do before your 6 week postpartum check if you haven’t been given any restrictions (I wasn’t after having a vaginal birth). You are not supposed start a true exercise routine until you see your doctor for your 6 week postpartum check.

I know alot of people who didn’t eat any carbs, or at least very very low amount of carbs that amounted to almost nothing, until they reached their desired weight and they lost alot of weight very fast. One of my friends lost a pound a day. I’d think it would be hard to stick to though if you like bread, pasta, potatoes and stuff like that…if not, then try the low carb diet and eat things like meats and vegetables (I don’t really know much about it so I don’t know exactly how healthy it is). I think, from what I understand, it works because protein burns faster than carbs and after the protein gets burned your body burns fat already stored whereas if you ate carbs your body would still be burning the carbs you ate. (I could be wrong, that’s what I’ve been told by other people.)

How to Lose Weight in Your Thighs

      Step 1
Watch what you eat. Add more protein and fiber to your diet. Fiber keeps your body lean and healthy, while protein helps to boost up the effects of your exercise.

      Step 2
Do jumping rope 3 to 4 times per week. This is a good thigh exercise and is an excellent warm up or cool down routine. Start by turning the rope forward and alternately jump your legs using the jogging pace. Slightly bend your knees to keep the impact low as you jump and keep your back straight when doing the entire procedure. You can increase the difficulty of your execution by jumping both your legs at the same time instead of doing the jogging pace or step.

      Step 3
Ride an exercise bike, swim, jog or go brisk walking. These are excellent aerobic exercises that trim your thighs and your whole body. For an effective hit on your thighs, try to stand up instead of sitting down in an exercise bike and pedal as fast as you can. For swimming, paddle your legs more as you go over with your strokes, especially when you’re doing the back stroke. Jog 3 to 4 times a week. You can incorporate it with brisk walking if you choose to. Begin by jogging at a comfortable pace for about 30 seconds and then brisk walk until you have enough energy to jog again. Execute this alternating jog and walk cycle for 25 to 30 minutes, three times per week.

      Step 4
Execute squats three times per week. Start by having your own body weight as a resistance for the first three weeks of your squat routine. Stand upright with your feet shoulder width apart. Inhale as you lower yourself to a squat (as in doing the motion of sitting down). Then exhale as you go back to standing position. Make sure to keep your back straight during execution. Do this procedure in three sets of 10 repetitions. Gradually increase your resistance after the first three weeks by performing it with dumbbells on both hands. Then later, you can increase it up to using a Smith machine or barbell.

      Step 5
Perform some dumbbell lunges. Begin by standing upright, feet shoulder width apart, with dumbbells in both hands. Just relax your arms and shoulders to allow the dumbbells to hang down to the sides of your body. Step your right leg forward as far as you can, while you keep your left leg in place. As your right foot lands in front of you, bend both your knees to lower your body. Then step your right foot back to starting position and then this time step forward using your left leg. Repeat the right and left alternating lunge 10 to 15 times. When you flex both your knees, make sure that the knee of your front leg (the one stepping forward) is not flexed beyond your front toes; and as for your back leg (the one in place) make sure that it does not touch the floor as you flex.

      Step 6
Do the lying leg curls. Position yourself on the hamstring machine on your stomach (prone position); hold on to the hand-grips and place both your feet below the attached weights. Inhale as you carefully curl the weight up as in bringing your feet towards your buttocks. Then exhale as you lower them back down. Repeat this procedure 10 to 12 times and relax.

      Step 7
Execute some leg raises. Lay flat on your back on an exercise mat. Inhale as you elevate your legs and exhale as you bring them back down without letting them touch the floor. Maintain your legs elevated at about 1 to 2 inches up from the floor and make your legs stop on that level as you bring it back down from elevation. Repeat this procedure 10 times and relax.

How to exercise your way to a tighter and firmer tush

      Step 1
Squeeze: This exercise can be performed just about anywhere, so there’s no excuse not to do it! It targets the sides of your tush to give you a smoother and smaller shape.

In a seated position, gradually and slowly tense your bottom. Keep your feet on the ground. Focussing purely on your bum muscles, aim to lift your tush at least an inch while remaining in the chair. Try not to lean forward or push from your feet. Hold the squeeze for 5-10 seconds and release. Aim to do three sets of 10 squeezes.

      Step 2
Squats: Position your feet 8 – 12″ apart. Cross your arms over your chest and rest your hands on your shoulders. Keeping your feet flat, take your weight back into your heels. Leading with your bottom, lower your body by bending your knees. Your knees should be positioned directly over your toes. Hold for 3 seconds, raise yourself slowly and repeat. Aim to do three sets of 10.

      Step 3
Rear Lunge: Position your feet shoulder-width apart. Take one leg straight behind you while keeping your torso upright. Your hips should be positioned between your feet. Slowly bend your rear leg, aiming to take the knee to 1 – 2″ from the ground. Pause a moment and slowly return your body to starting position. Aim for 2 sets of 10 on each side.

      Step 4
Leg raises: Lying on your right side with your head resting on your outstretched right arm. Use your left arm, if necessar

Know your daily calorie limit. When I was in the process of losing weight, it was suggested that I stay under 1700 calories a day. Knowing that number was half the battle. I could eat anything I wanted throughout the day, so long as I would stay at or beneath that number. While I couldn’t track 100% of the items I ate, I was able to make intake estimates – and adjust my schedule and ration my remaining calories accordingly. In this sense, you’re given extreme freedom – so long as you stay at or beneath that suggested calorie level for your plan. If you don’t know how much you’re supposed to take in, how are you supposed to know how much you’re supposed to take in?! Sounds redundant, but it’s a situation that many “dieters” are in (which is why they fail)!

    • Narasimhan says:

1 Dietary Balance: watch what you eat, and expend more energy than you consume. It’s really that simple. This involves some calculation. The approximate normal daily caloric requirement for an average male who performs light activity is 2,200; for a female, it is 1,900.Do the math. Eat larger portions and eat at least five meals a day.Your actual caloric requirement can differ depending on your height, weight, activity level and your body’s metabolic rate.

2 Start reading labels. If you don’t know what you’re putting in your mouth, you’re flying blind. Don’t assume, either – check the ingredients list and serving sizes. You must rely on yourself for this; nobody else is going to be able to lose the weight or do the math for you. It’s not that complicated a task, but it will require effort. If nothing else, just pay attention to the calorie count.

3 Water you waiting for If you’re not drinking enough water, your body will let you know. Thirst is an amazing sensation – quench it. If you’re not hydrated, your body won’t be working at peak levels. If you’re worried about “water weight,” remember that you’re likely to retain more water when you’re not giving your body enough of it in the first place. Besides, that’s what those workout sessions are supposed to help with every other morning. I’m not going to dictate how many glasses you should drink, though – as that’s going to vary from person to person.

      http://knowdiet.blogspot.com/

4 Identify your exercise. No exercise was created equal. You might like running, so run. You might like jogging, so jog. You might like stationary bikes, so bike stationary. Find the one that works best for you Don’t pick a routine that you don’t like – or you won’t want to do it, and you certainly won’t stick with it for long. I also wouldn’t recommend buying into that whole “no pain, no gain” mantra. I’ve lost weight without hurting myself, and you probably can, too.

      http://knowexercise.blogspot.com/

5 Join an online support group. It’s essential that you not feel alone, and reaching out to friends (new or old) is typically a smart move. You have to know that others are out there for moral support – they know things that you couldn’t possibly know, and they’ve probably been “in your shoes” at some point in the past (or present). Share stories, laughter, tears, successes, and failures – share them. There are thousands of communities out there, so keep looking until you find the one that fits you.

      http://learnfriendship.blogspot.com/

6 Take before and after photos. I know it sucks to see yourself as a chunky monkey (sorry, that’s what I called myself – if only to get myself motivated to meet my weight loss goal). However, there’s no easier way to illustrate your progress. The “after” photos are far more fun to capture and share, admittedly.

7 Tell your family. You’re not going to lose the weight alone, even if you ARE alone in losing the weight. If you’ve got a family at home, talk to them about it – initially, not incessantly. Let them know what you’re going to do, and that you want (and need) their support. Who knows? Maybe some of your new habits will rub off on them and they’ll become healthier people, too

8 Zone out. There’s a reason why people exercise to their favorite music – listening to external stimulus takes your mind off of the physical activity. That’s the secret to making “exercise time” fly or situate yourself in front of a television or video games involving exercises.

9 Sleep it off. To be an efficient fat-burning machine, If you think that you’re doing yourself a favor by sleeping less, you’re mistaken. Give your body time to rest itself, both mentally and physically. Sleep is very, very important (if only for mental alertness for the following day). If you feel tired, that’s likely your body’s way of saying: “Shut your eyes, stupid!”

Probably exercising them…especially through weight training or free weights and walking. Do the weight/cardio switch-er-roo. Eat better, too. No fats or high sugary carbs. I’ve been told by my friends who were exercise/fitness/sports training majors that you can’t just target one area of the body to lose weight from. If you start working out, it will shed from all over your body. You can, however, tone your legs more than other parts by the aforementioned advice. :) Good luck! What is the best way to lose weight?
I went to my doctor last week and he said that I need to lose weight because of my diabetes. So what is the best way to lose it and keep it off? I don’t need a fast way, just a good way that will work. Any suggestions?

    • ABS GURU says:

The obvious generic answer is to eat right and perform moderate exercise a few times per week lol. However, with your diabetes you need to eat so that your insulin response is always balanced.

The idea of balancing insulin levels by eating certain foods is the key to weight loss.

The basic premise behind the theory is that by eating small, frequent meals that are low in starchy carbohydrates and higher in healthy fats and lean protein, you may create adequate insulin release. But by eating infrequent meals that are high in calories and loaded with carbohydrates, you cause a radical insulin spike which results in excessive body-fat storage. This is the result of insulin levels crashing, and this is what causes body-fat loss to stop.

The main goal is to try to balance insulin levels throughout the day by eating frequent, small meals that are designed to boost metabolic response. Think of your body as a furnace. If you do not load it with coal, it will not continue to burn.

To lose weight the right way, you should eat a balanced diet that consists of high protein (1.5-2g/pound of bodyweight), moderate healthy fats, and low glycemic carbohydrates. I do not recommend a low or high carbohydrate approach because your thyroid responds to not only total calories, but also carbohydrates. If someone eats a low carb diet for a long period of time, the thyroid will sense that the body may be starving for nutrients and naturally respond by slowing down your metabolic rate. This is the body’s natural response in an effort to try and preserve the muscle you already have.

Counterproductive if your goal is to lose weight because when this happens you will find it impossible to lean out and may even add additional body-fat. Periodic carbohydrate loading will replenish glycogen to the muscle, and may also keep your thyroid going strong all day long.

What many people do not realize when they eat fast food, is that when you eat fat with a meal, especially a meal containing carbohydrates; it shrinks the bolus size entry into the small intestine. This causes the pancreas to release insulin, which in turn, can signal the body to begin the body-fat storage process.

I am not interested in marketing gimicks, machines, eat all you want, and pills. I am asking about the best legitimate approach to losing weight, best way to eat, low carb? lower cal intake? How much exercise? walking? cycling? pilates? what works best?

The best way is to reduce your calorie intake. Use this website to see what calories you need to maintain your current weight or to lose weight. Exercise atleast 30mins per day. You dont need to be excessive only consistent. :) Good luck!

What is the best way to lose weight in your stomach area?
I have heard that sit ups/crunches only help build muscle under the fat.

    But is that true??

And what is the best way to lose weight in the stomach area?

    • Brandon says:

*Sit ups, and crunches help to build muscle, but you won’t see your abs without any type of cardio exercise. Try Pilates, and eat healthier. Sit ups, and crunches WILL help improve the look of your stomach, but you need to consider everything you eat*

Here are a few more tips if you want to use them if you don’t already:

-Drink more water, 8-10 glasses of water everyday.

-Cut down on the carbs (there’s good, and bad carbs. The bad cars are chips, sodas etc.), fats, and sugars you consume.

-Try to eat more fiber, protein, and have some wheat too.

-Lift weights, the more muscle you have the more calories your body burns.

-If you feel like you are hungry try to have some water, but if you want food, then try to snack in between meals only have fruit and veges, apple, carrot sticks, remember try to eat an apple and banana a day.

-I suggest taking out all fizzy drinks and juices.

-Have a good breakfast. Breakfast is so important.

      -Eat lean meat.

-I started swimming every morning about 3 weeks ago before I ate breakfast, so far I have lost about 20 pounds of fat, and have gone down 2 waist sizes. I look, and feel way better because when you do a form of cardio exercise before you eat, you are burning the stored fat (stomach, and everything else), other than burning the food you just ate. Plus swimming burns fat, and tones up your muscles. 2 In 1!

-You can’t spot reduce, so you have to lose body fat in ALL areas.

Best way to lose weight without exercise?
Before you all tell me that the only way to lose weight sensibly is to exercise I know it is. But I recently tore me acl so cardio activity is completely out of the question. I’ve tried eating a sensible diet of 3 set meals a day all of which are very sensible (morning:special k lunch:fruit salad dinner:pasta bake just as an example) and I’m still putting weight on because of the lack of exercise. What have people personally found the best way to lose weight quickly without exercise?
